Austin Lee Russell better known by his stage name Chumlee, is an American businessman and reality television personality, best known for his Appearances on the History Channel television show Pawn Stars, which depicts day-to-day business at the Gold and Silver Pawn Shop in Las Vegas where he works. Chumlee went to work at the pawn shop five years before filming the first season, having been a childhood friend of Corey Harrison whose father and grandfather founded the shop.
Chumlee is often portrayed on the show as the comic foil, but he often appraises items in his areas of expertise, including pinball machines, sports memorabilia, sneakers, toys, and video games. He has risen in fame since premiering on the show often being the “fan favorite” of all the cast members. The series has gained world wide fan following and Chumlee himself is considered a local hero in many countries such as Guatemala, Mexico, Germany and Argentina.
With the success of his fame Chumlee has expanded his on camera credits to include a role in the film “Pop Star” and also hosted “Bob Dylan: Like A Rolling Stone” while continuing his role as the comic relief on “Pawn Stars Do America” which takes the class reality series on the road, traveling around the USA in search of historical finds and collectible objects.
In his spare time when not filming the reality series a fan might get lucky enough to meet Chumlee face to face at a fan convention where he may or may not let a fan know what their treasured collectible is worth. Or better yet you might run into him at his own store in Las Vegas called CHUMLEE’S CANDY ON THE BLVD. where folks can buy their favorite sweet treats while possibly catching an in person glimpse of the reality star as he will frequently be on hand running the store himself!
