BOOK BLURB:
From Yoda and Jabba - to Mr. Tinkles and Wile E Coyote - Dave Barclay has been involved with some of the most iconic movie characters over the past fifty years. A second generation puppeteer, he began making puppets as a young boy and puppeteered with his parents throughout his childhood and into his teens.

A chance meeting with Mark Hamill from Star Wars resulted in Mr Hamill introducing Dave to Stuart Freeborn, one of the world's greatest make-up artists, who a week later, employed Dave on "The Empire Strikes Back" to work on the first ever movie animatronic named Yoda.

Then Frank Oz, chief puppeteer for Yoda, invited Dave to join The Jim Henson Company to work on The Dark Crystal; a ground breaking animatronic movie which reflected Dave's passion for puppetry and film making.

Dave spent years at Henson's becoming Chief Puppeteer for Sprocket in Henson's European "Fraggle Rock" and was department head and puppeteer for Henson's "Labyrinth" starring David Bowie. He became an Academy Award Finalist for Warner Bros "Cats and Dogs" as Animatronic Effects Supervisor on behalf of Jim Henson’s Creature Shop.

He has worked on over thirty movies and fifty TV shows, created animatronics for the world's leading theme parks and produced his own TV shows and movies, giving him a unique insight into the film industry from decades of hands-on interaction. His journey is one of luck and fortitude, supported by his passion for puppetry and combined with a desire to always push the envelope in what's possible for performance animatronics.

He also enjoys spicy curries and single malt whisky.
